help with words...Death in the family

Question

Hi, My friend's grandmother died just 2 days ago. I want to send him and his family a heartfelt message that I am thinking about them, I am praying for them, and hope for the best for him and his family. Do you have any suggestions what in spanish is appropriate to say. I know very little spanish, words here and there but not sentences or phrases. Help.
