Hola,
My name is Mary. My husband and I are going to help with church services for spanish speaking people in our town. Any advice? He has no Spanish background and I have some from high school and college but it's been a long time ago.

Thanks!

Mary, have you joined the group "labiblia" yet? I thought you might like that. Look on "groups"

Hola Sheree,
Thank you for the info. My husband mentioned the Rosetta Stone software but we haven't looked into buying it yet. I took Spanish so long ago, but some of the basics are coming back. We are trying to get some basic conversation and Bible translations before we start helping. Fortunately the children of the families speak English, so that will definitely help.
What are you going to be doing through your church? We'd love to pray for you both; please let us know how we can pray specifically for you (if you'd like).
Have a blessed rest of the week!
In Him,
Mary

Hola Mary! My name is Sheree and I saw your request for help in learning Spanish. My husband and I are going through a similar circumstance as you and your husband. We have been using the Rosetta Stone Software program to help us to learn the language. My husband found this site and everyone here has been so helpful. Good luck in your quest to learn Spanish and may God bless your efforts!

God = Dios
Jesus Christ = Jesucristo

Romanos 8:28
Y sabemos que a los que aman a Dios, todas las cosas cooperan para bien, esto es, a los que conforme a su propósito son llamados

Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Muchas gracias! If I were to say, "thank you for your help," would I say, "muchas gracias para tu ayudar." Or am I completely messing that one up?
Gracias!

Hi Mary! You can start by having a look at the lessons and videos... Also try to gather some useful phrases that may help you to communicate at first. Try to read in spanish as much as you can and share your experiences with the other forists... Anything you need, we'll be here to help you! Good luck!
