Hola Katrina, to say words in spanish is to pronounced as it was spelled. For example "peanut" is "cacahuate" (pronounced as kah-kah-wah-teh) while "chocolate" is pronounced "choh-coh-lah-teh".
Spanish has many words that has same and different meanings. i.e. "Vato" and "Gÿey" (pronounced "weih") both meant "dude". However, "GÿEY" is a curse word for "dude".
To practice Spanish online, in my opinion, i preferred www.espanole.org
Good luck
