Directions can be confusing in different languages. On the phone we say "I'll come over to your house," but I think in Spanish it is "Voy (not vengo) a tu casa." When someone calls you us to dinner, we say "I'm coming," but it's "Ya voy" in Spanish. And in both English and Spanish there is another, um, more intimate meaning of come/venir, but in Japanese it is the verb meaining "to go." wink

No, vaya not: it has to be "venga", yes I know, confusing. But we say "venir" instead of "ir"

James, I didn't express myself well: I thought it was the Eagles, I mean giving emphasis to the article. The eagles , the big team.

Oh, there you are! We thought it was "the" eagles.

It is The Eagles. When we talk about a team, we use the article, but when we talk to a team, we drop the article.

The Giants are having a terrible year.
Come on, Giants, let's get a rally going!

Normally the names do not chage, but if you wish:

Venga, Aguilas!

Vamos, aguilas!

Arriba, Aguilas!

Aguilas, los mejores!

Oh, there you are! We thought it was "the" eagles.

Hmmm, I would say:

Venga (come on)

Dale (get to it)

corre (run)

arriba (long live..)

eres la mejor (you're the best)

son los mejores ( you, all, are the best)
