I swear I have heard this word as a term of endearment, but where? And why is it not in a dictionary...Spanish or Italian? I'm gonig crazy!

Muchas gracias... I'm sure it is my spelling at fault, and the word is "querido"!

I don't speak Italian... but it sounds similar to "cariño" which can mean something like "sweetheart" or "querido"' which means "beloved" in Spanish
