fui or fui (w accent)'?
Is an accent used on fui to differentiate between "was" and "went"'

Yes, Hess mentioned that in his post. (guiño)
Using a diacritical accent is an interesting idea, but these accents are used to differenciate among grammatical categories and words from different roots, so no accent here.
By the way, fui can also mean "I was", sorry.
Hi Hess, no accent, sorry.
Thank you. For thirty years I've been writing "I went" with accented fui.
It would be nice, but, no, they both look the same.
