Translating Eng to Span with Google toolbar
There is a neat tool some of you may want to know about. I can only explain it for my own set-up, but others may also be possible.
I use Firefox as my browser, and have installed the Google tool bar, which is very convenient since it lets me search on Google without first going to another website. I went to Manage -> Features -> Search Box Settings, and enabled Translator. Now, when I hover my mouse pointer over an English word on a web page, it automatically gives me a floating box with the word defined in Spanish.
For example, when I hold my mouse pointer over the "Members" tab at the top of this page, there appears a little box with "member: miembro." I can enable or disable this function just by clicking a button on my Google toolbar.

I do it the opposite way, scroll over Spanish to get the English translation, I also get Farsi, Portuguese, & German at times. I have Firefox & windows vista.
You can also add it to explorer which I am using. it is very easy to download.
I'm not that savvy. If you have specific questions, let me know. Do you use Firefox? If not, I highly recommend it. You can download it quickly here:

You can add the Google tool bar to Firefox.
Sounds brilliant! I wish I could get it to work.... obviously I'm not as computer savvy as you :-(
But it is a tool for answering vocabulary questions, and it is not website feedback, which is the name of this forum. I just don't think many people will see it here.
...because it is not a vocabulary question, James.
You can just enable it when it's needed.
BTW, Heidita, why did you move this thread from the Vocabulary section? I put it there because I figured many people using that forum could benefit from this tool, and would probably never see the thread in this forum. (This is my first time ever to visit this forum, for example.)
That's the one Motley was looking for in her thread.
I actually disabled it , found it very annoying, as the translations appear all the time.
That's a good one! Thanks for sharing.
