School System Interpreter

Question

Hi Everyone! This Thursday I am interviewing to become a Spanish interpreter for our local school system. The position is mostly to help out with parent-teacher conferences, orientations, registration, etc. I'm really excited!

Just wondering if anyone might have any tips to prepare. Any websites/podcasts/guides for practicing interpreting, studying school-related vocabulary, or information on being an interpreter in general? I feel confident in my skills, just looking for extra resources out there to continue growing in this area! Thanks!

Some people I know who are interpreters (are want to be) practice with the TV. I think it's great practice to have a show on in one language and then simultaneously interpret it. Also on youtube, there are a lot of mock or real parent-teacher conferences. You can practice by going on there and interpreting there. I'm sure you'll do great. Best of Luck!
