Oh, Heidi, how lovely to hear your voice again. Reminds me of the wonderful Skype chats that our group had. - Echoline, Sep 30, 2017
Listen to me also, but remember I am able to say "si y no " quite well. - ray76, Oct 1, 2017
Igualmente Echo , but Heidi your voice has changed a bit , deeper and more resonant . - ray76, Oct 1, 2017
@Heidita2, You have a Peninsular Spanish accent with a British English vernacular. - NKM1974, Oct 1, 2017

I heard you in two languages. Your English is very clear. Vocaroo is easy, but the recording doesn't last forever. I am not at all tech savvy. I haven't used Google drive yet.

Patch has an easy to listen to voice.

Thanks all for your comments. I especially liked to put a voice to a name.

Gracias compañeros. Ahora tengo que ver si logro subir algún otro audio. Me fue enormemente complicado poder hacerlo con éste.

Wow, Polenta, it is wonderful to hear your voice. I cannot place your accent from any particular English-speaking place, but I can definitely say that your accent is not from anywhere in the U S A. But everything that you say is very clear and understandable and correct...it is just that the accent gives you away as a non-native English speaker. I can't wait to sound as good in Spanish as you do in English, and it's wonderful to be able to put a voice with a name.

@Echoline, you must be familiar with General American or Midwestern English. There's other accents from the States: the South, Atlantic, Plains & Pacific coast. I guess you are not familiar with the other accents from the States. - NKM1974, Sep 30, 2017
I am very familiar with all of the accents from the states. I am married to an announcer and we have an audio production company. The accent may "sound" American in some ways, but it is definately not any regional American accent. - Echoline, Oct 1, 2017
Specifically, there is a "clipped' quality to some of the words and many of the "s" sounds are outside of any of the American accents. That being said, it is very well-spoken and I do not mean this to be a criticism in A N Y way. - Echoline, Oct 1, 2017
My accent Is Uruguayan lol. But it' s true I studied at an American instituye with Uruguayan traders. We don't have so Manu foreigners here Later in life I got in touch with British accents. - Polenta, Oct 1, 2017
Sorry Uruguayan teachers.lol - Polenta, Oct 1, 2017
Polenta, you sound wonderful! - Echoline, Oct 1, 2017

Fantastic Polenta. I understood you very clearly. I'm no expert of course, but to me your accent had a definite US twang to it .... some of your pronunciation sounded north east coast NY/NJ area.

Speaking about accents, let me tell you an anecdote.

A woman I know who was born in Vienna came to Uruguay at the age of 4. . She studied English and was really proficient in it. It goes without saying that her Spanish was perfect having come at such an early age and having gone to school in Uruguay.

Once she went to USA and spoke a good English of course but with an accent as we non-natives do . They asked her where she was from and she asked them to guess , expecting to hear the name of some Latín American country. To her surprise the answer was. _Vienna?

Incredible! She didn't have any accent in Spanish ! And English was a foreign language for her!
