Help proofreading paragraph :)

¡Hola a todos!

I am hoping that someone (or a few of you, better yet!) will be able to help me proofread/make suggestions on this composition I wrote for my Spanish class. Basically, the assignment is that we have to write a little story (at least 8 full sentences) about a medical issue/accident/etc. that we had happen to us or someone else. The goal is to use vocabulary from the Vistas textbook, chapter 10, and also use both the preterite and imperfect. I literally just learned the imperfect and I'm still seriously struggling with when to use it. raspberry Anyway, below is my paragraph:

Empecé a vomitar. Pronto, me sentía peor.

Thank you SO MUCH in advance! smile

Here's my version:

Empecé a vomitar. Pronto, me sentí peor.

Not every change I made indicated an error, although there were a few. I changed a few things for style. I changed a couple of imperfects to preterite like "Pronto me sentí peor" whiich means "Suddenly I began to feel worse." I also changed a similar one "Pronto me sentí mejor" meaning, "I suddenly began to feel better." I changed "mi coro de la iglesia" to "el coro de mi iglesia." which I think sounds better in Spanish. I'm sure that other native speakers will jump in and find other things that I may have missed, or even find a better way to say it.

Buena suerte. Your Spanish is quite good.

Hey, excellent work overall. Not many corrections. "Mi coro" is not incorrect" but it's not the way I would say it. "El coro" sounds better in my opinion.

I like your "de repente" and "Enseguida" better than keeping the "Pronto's" I should have thought of that. - Daniela2041, Sep 30, 2017
You got a couple of good points too. I guess combining both answers it would be close to perfection. :) - 00fac92a, Sep 30, 2017

Thank you for the prompt responses everyone! I will look over all the corrections you suggested. Here is a translation of what I said for those who need it:

When I was seventeen years old, I went to Italy with my church choir. I was sick before I went on the trip. I had a bad cold the week prior. When we arrived in Italy, I was nauseated/dizzy. I was thinking that I had a flu, so I went to the pharmacy to buy medicine. I took the medicine, but I did not feel better. However, I did not want to go see a doctor. I started to vomit. Soon, I felt worse. My dad was worried and took me to the emergency room in Florence. A nurse took my temperature and said: "What symptoms do you have?" I told her that I was nauseated/dizzy and vomiting. Soon, the doctor arrived and I sat for the medical exam. The doctor examined my throat, took my temperature, and felt/palpitated my stomach. "You have motion sickness." She prescribed the correct medication for me and soon I felt better. Finally, I was able to sing with my choir!
