Error during quizzes

I am a native Spanish speaker with a B.A in Spanish from the University of Houston. I was testing the quiz tool you offer in this website and as I took a practice quizzes I caught about 3 errors so far. I know for a fact that some of the answers I gave for the questions were correct and yet the quiz marked them incorrect. What the tool says is the actual answer makes no sense in the Spanish language. For example under the Basic Spanish Prepositions quiz the exercise reads: Saqué a mi hija (indicate possession) el carrito de equipaje. I selected "de" (contracted it should have been del but I chose the closet answer "de") and it said the answer was actually "en" which indicates location. If you aren't native it makes sense because the child was in a location but the word "saqué" means to take out of, hence "de" (of) o "del (contracted)" is the answer of choice, yet it was marked incorrect.

I have possible answer to this malady. I had the same problem until I realized that I was answering the questions too rapidly. If you pick your answer and press NEXT too quickly, it seems that the system compares your answer to the previous question . Ah, I'm not sure that I have that correct. In any case, as I remember, if I waited a bit before pressing NEXT, the problem went away. I think I remember that the NEXT button changes color or vibrates... not sure.

Thank you, Don. That could be it. :) - rac1, Sep 27, 2017
Just for S&G, I think I'll try it out again. - DonBigoteDeLaLancha, Sep 27, 2017

And so it seems, in the flash cards at least. Also, in the answer section you have to type the exact answer to be correct. For example: “Puedo servirle a usted” is marked incorrect because the recall section was “Puedo servirle”. Or not including the correct punctuation is marked as incorrect. Disheartening for a “novato”, I think, but I have a very thick skull. In any case, the lessons are invaluable.

Four months ago, this was discussed from this page. Placement of direct object pronouns.

This is a problem in the flashcards, too. Even though, I know the answer. I have to intentionally add or omit a punctuation, spacebar and misspell to earn points on that wrong answer. Also, if there's too many duplicates, errors or unplayable, I just find another flashcard that's playable and errorless.

Very well said, Nkm. (I couldn't put your name in capitals). - DonBigoteDeLaLancha, Sep 27, 2017
The only way that you can put his name in capitals is to put a space between each letter. N K M. - Echoline, Sep 27, 2017
Great tip, Echoline! - DonBigoteDeLaLancha, Sep 27, 2017
Echo: That is the safest way not to get rejected, however, of you put it later in the sentence, NKM with enough text it won't get rejected either. :) - DilKen, Sep 27, 2017
Well, I can't think of a better reason to report it through feedback then. All the more so, N. - rac1, Sep 28, 2017
