As Mardle indicated, you can use Spanish Question words at the beginning of the question:
For example:
¿Cómo dibuja el mapa el estudiante?
How did the student draw the map?
If you're not asking how?, why?, when? or where? But simply:
Did the student draw a map?
The most common thing is to put the verb first.
Note that there is no "question helper word" similar to "did" , "does" or "do" in Spanish. This words (did, does and do) can often be translated into Spanish using a conjugated version of the verb "hacer" but in the case of a question word...the do/did/does are NOT translated (or used at all) in Spanish.
Either:
¿Dibuja un mapa el estudiante? (my favorite way, subject last)
¿Dibuja el estudiante un mapa? (very common, verb - subject - object)
Less common, but not wrong, use the original order of the statement, just add ¿? marks:
¿El estudiante dibuja un mapa?
