There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speakers suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game..

1: Hoy es un hermoso día, con un sol radiante y sin nubes.

It's a beautiful day today, with a bright sun and not a cloud in the sky.

2: La luna radiante reveló un lobo solitario sentado al borde del precipicio.

The bright moon showed a lone wolf sitting on the edge of the cliff.

Era muy pequeña despues la segunda guerra mundial, pero tuve recuerdos muy desagradables de las ruinas de nuestro capital, pero el Coloseo a pesar de ser ruina, en Roma fue tan radiante y maravilloso que inmediamente ha borrado mi malos recuerdos .

I was very small after the Second World War, but I had very unpleasant memories of the ruins of our capital, but the Colosseum in spite of being ruin, in Rome was so radiant and wonderful that it has immediately erased my bad memories.

A touching post, Porcupine. I read everything you write, everyday. :D - jrschenk, Sep 26, 2017
Hola amiga. You don't need to capitalize "colosseum" in this context. :) - rac1, Sep 26, 2017
tuve recuerdos...a pesar de ser una... - 006595c6, Sep 26, 2017
...in spite of being "ruined"..... - Jraider, Sep 26, 2017
Sorry Ambs, but I have to disagree. The names of buildings and monuments should be capitalised in English. Porcu is speaking of the Colosseum, not a coliseum. - jellonz, Sep 26, 2017
I have to agree with jello about capitalization. - AnnRon, Sep 27, 2017
Thanks Jrschenk I am grateful. - porcupine7, Sep 27, 2017
Gracias amigos - porcupine7, Sep 27, 2017

I study nuclear science- I love my classes

I got a crazy teacher- He wears dark glasses

Things are going great and they're only getting better

I'm doing all right- Getting good grades

The future's so bright I gotta wear shades

Estudio ciencia nuclear- Me encantan mis clases

Tengo un profesor loco- Lleva puestas gafas oscuras

Las cosas van bien y solo van mejorando

Estoy bien- Saco buenas notas

El futuro es tan radiante que necesito ponerme gafas de sol

La palabra radiante es algo poética. Se siempre oye la luz es radiante o la novia parece radiante. Ahora se dice las dientes son radiantes por que todos usan pastel de dientes blanqueador.

The word radiant is somewhat poetic. You always hear "the light is radiant", "the bride looks radiant" now they say teeth are radiant because everyone uses whitening toothpaste. enter image description here
