Se lo recuerda

I read this phrase in a post and was hoping someone could help me understand it.

Sabes que un día tendrá que abandonar la isla del océano pacifico donde nació, en el estado de kiribati.

Se lo recuerda el sonido de las olas del mar...

What does the phrase "Se lo recuerda" mean in this case? I'm not sure about the two pronouns and what they refer to. Thanks.

se lo recuerda. The sound of the waves reminds him or her of it.

"Se" means him or her. "Lo". means it.

"It" Is the fact that "un día tendrá que abandonar la isla.........."

I agree with polenta, except for the "it".

It here means his place of birth: la isla del océano pacífico donde nació
