Voy a buscarte? Or looking for love?
Español:
Últimamente he estado escuchando a Raulín Rodríguez, y una traducción de su canción Esta Noche se traduce de la siguiente manera:
Esta noche voy a buscarte.
Tonight I am going to have you.
Lo habría traducido como:
Tonight I am going to look for you.
¿Hay algún contexto sexual a la palabra buscar de la que soy ignorante?
Trato de las frases que aprendo en mi vocabulario, y no quiero malcomunicarme.trato de utilizar las frases que aprendo en mi vocabulario, y no quiero malcomunicarme.

Lately I have been listening to Raulín Rodríguez, and a translation of his song Esta Noche translates as follows:

I would have translated it as:

Is there some sexual context to the word buscar of which I am ignorant?
I try to work the phrases I learn into my vocabulary, and I don't want to miscommunicate.

Esta Noche -- la cancion.

Your translation is better than the other you mention. I'm no aware of any sexual connotations of "buscar". It just means to look for /to search for.
I'm not familiar with this song but maybe somebody thought that it better expressed the meaning of the lyrics as a whole?
I dunno, Jr. You know guys.....they can turn just about any phrase into something sexual....
. It just means to look for /to search for.
This is not correct. Buscar also means :
to rob, pick up, to ask for it (te lo has buscado)
The question is about the translation of the phrase. The song has a heavy sexual content but that has nothing to do with the meaning of " te voy a buscar" which the question is about. - Guillermo_O
I know what the question is about, guillermo, thanks for the reminder anyway. ![]()
The translations given by people who normally translate lyrics are :
I am going to get you...
I am going to have you....
I guess we can assume that the sexual connotation of the song changes the "normal" meaning of "buscar" .
I also found "tonight I am going to get you".
I agree with Echoline ![]()
