Welcome to La Palabra Del Día
There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speakers suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.
Guidelines:
Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game..
Examples:

This idea came to my mind while looking at a mattress store and thinking about the similarity between the words Mattress and Mattis. Not much of a political statement is being made. No politician in the United States has expressed a desire to go to war. So I'm not attacking anyone. It's also a fact that the people in power do not appreciate the service of transgender people in the military and they have set about a plan to eventually get rid of all transpeople in the military. I'm just making some fun of that fact and people are free to agree or disagree with that move (I assume people here would know how I feel about the issue). Still, I would be understanding if this project is removed.

A derived word
indoblegable = not desisting from their opinion, purpose, aim or behaviour.
My Spanish version of Henley's poem Invictus:
Más allá de la noche que me cubre
negra como el abismo que une los polos,
agradezco a los dioses que pudiera haber
por mi alma indoblegable.
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
