I agree both with NKM's offered options and choice of wording, and with Guillermo's observation. It would have to be the imperative form.

Now, technically you could say "flotemos", it's a valid sentence and it sort of makes sense... but it's more likely to cause confusion as the first impulse would be to interpret it literally (waddayamean 'flotemos'?).

One possible alternative that I can think of on the fly is something like: "déjemonos llevar" or "transportémonos a..." which I think convey a bit of the sense of "let's float back to...". But that might be my own fancy at play here.

Hello!

There are two ways you can say "Let's float back to the summer of '17." in Spanish, both indicative and imperative.

  • (Indicative) Nos retrocedemos al verano de 2017. (Imperative) Retrocedamos al verano de 2017.
  • (Indicative) Nos volvemos atrás al verano de 2017. (Imperative) Volvamos atrás al verano de 2017.

Since I couldn't find the word "float back" in the Spanish dictionary, the trigger word here is "roll back".

Hope this helps.

Regards!

The imperative sounds a lot better to me. - 00fac92a, Sep 18, 2017

Could it be "Flotemos de vuelta al verano de '17"?
