What is a movie artists?

Question

My Spanish 2 paper says "¿quien es tu artista de cine favorita?" and it translates directly to "who is your favorite movie artist?" It doesn't make sense but I need it to make sense in order for me to finish my essay. Please help.

We call movie actors "artistas." in fact we call a lot of different performers, "artistas."

So you can answer: "Mi artista de cine favorita es----------------------"-(and make sure you make it a female artist because of the word "favorita.") ' 'Artista" can be both masculine or feminine as are all words ending in "ista." You differenciate by using the article el or la, or by using an adjective of the desired gender like in your example. "favorita" --feminine.
