cognates that start with q

Question

Hi, I'm doing a poster for my Spanish class and it's about cognates, I have to find one for every letter of the Spanish alphabet. For the most part, I've done well, but I need help with one thing. What is a cognate that begins with Q? I need an answer immediately, please tell me you can help, I've looked on many other sites and sources, however a trusted source instructed me to come here.

Hi Angelina - I take it you mean that start with "Q" in both English and Spanish as there are quite a few English "Q" words that have Spanish cognates starting with "C". Anyway, here's a link where you can find a few that begin with "Q" in both languages:

If I can think of a false cognate that starts with the letter "q", there's only one.

Quitar vs Quit

• Quitar means to take away, remove, or get rid of.
• Quit = dejar, abandonar, salir de. To quit one's job: abandonar su puesto, dimitir.
