I'm afraid that "asas" is not how to write 7:20 in Spanish.

I searched the Web and managed to find a helpful description of how to tell time in Spanish. Please look at number 4 under Method 1.

If you are answering what the present time is you say: Son las siete y veinte. then if you wish to add "a.m." you add "de la mañana." If it is in the p.m. you use "de la noche."

If you are stating at what time an event is, you use, for example: "El concierto de Lady Gaga es a las siete y veinte."

I speak mostly with Cubans, Mexicans, and Guatemalans nowadays, not all of the same educational level. They sometimes look at me strangely.

So I have been, for quite some time, saying:

12:10 pm: las doce con diez. 4:45 pm: las dieciséis con cuarenta y cinco. 1:29 pm: las trece con veintinueve. 1:30 pm: las trece con treinta (o las trece y media). 1:31 pm: las trece con treinta y uno.

It is military time, but I get less questions and frowned brows. I have always used military time in writing but not in speaking (in English, that is to say). There are twenty-fours in a day. Noon is the 12th. 1:00 pm is the 13th, etc. Midnight is 00:00. 10:00 am is “las diez” and 10:00 pm is “las veintidós”.
