Why I am just horrible at Spanish?
In seventh grade, It was the first grade to start learning Spanish in school, now I am in 8th grade now. Can somebody tell me why I am still **** at Spanish? I can understand a few words in Spanish but can't say or write sentences with most words fluently. I never went to Chinese school and I am still better at Chinese. Chinese was so easy like drinking a glass of water. Can someone tell me why I am still horrible at Spanish?

Hi Clash In school and in life we have things we enjoy and things we dislike. Human nature is such we tend to enjoy things we are good at.
I don't know where you are learning Spanish, how old you are or what is your first language. I have never tried learning Chinese ( I guess you are learning Mandarin rather than Cantonese) but I have been to China and think it must be very difficult as it is a tonal language with its own writing system.
If you have coped with learning Chinese I do not know what your problem is with Spanish. Sometimes if we do not like our teacher we do not respond well in lessons. However, you have bothered to post here so I assume you want to improve.
With a language you need to be able to read, speak, listen and write. Are you having a problem with all of it or just one part in particular? Do you want to learn Spanish eg to talk to friends, travel, see a film, or listen to music. Try and motivate yourself.
Spanish is logical and easy to pronounce. Make an effort on this and when ever you can read aloud to get your mouth and brain used to the sounds. Listen to some music.
As far as listening you will find you get better. Write down new words and try using them regularly. There is a word of the day thread and picture of the day where you can write in Spanish and English and get corrections.
Make the effort to speak Spanish in your Spanish class. Ask your teacher for help.
I could give lots more advice, but you need to decide you want to learn
That's just the way people work, bud.
I'm pretty darned good at catching flies, but I suck at playing piano, as much as I like it.
Wow, so you are good at Chinese and bad at Spanish? That sounds really odd, Chinese must be the most difficult language to learn in the world!
Anyway, give yourself time...languages are odd...sometimes you think you are never ever going to grasp it...and then...suddenly...there it is, you can talk!
You can always ask questions here about grammar, we will be happy to help you get a better grasp of the language ![]()
