Space "Answer this Question"

Question

Coming from here, where I called the space where you answer the question "question gap", which is most likely wrong, as the native speaker had no idea what I was talking about

So, what would you call the blank space where you write an answer to a question or ask a question?

The computer-user-interface term is "text box" ("cuadra de texto"). If the box has a "label" (another techie term), that label is used to refer to the box. Thus:

the Answer this Question text box

or, more commonly and preferably,

the Answer this Question box

But I think "answer box" is clear enough as well.

I know you mean what I am writing in right now, to answer you.

I would call it an answer box.

I have no idea what the right term is, or if there is a standard one.

The question gap would definitely not be it. Without context I would have no clue what that meant.

Yes, the body of the post...but when it is empty? the box I mean? Click on the link and you can see what I meant on the other thread.

I told a questioner on a thread answered by bosque ' the accents are at the bottom of the answer/ question box'. I suppose using rac's suggestion The accents are immediately below the body of text when you compose your question.

In a post a long time ago I used the English term, "answer box" I like jtaniel's "cuadro" de texto which can be used for both preguntas y respuestas.

It would be el espacio or la puntuación in Spanish. La puntuación, as in grave accents, tilde, dieresis, inverted question/exclamation marks.

Professionals who write computer applications have a name for each “object” that appears in the application, be it a text blank “______”, text “This is text”, dropdown menu, or text box, etc. Each object has its own name. They have their own language called “Procedural Object Oriented Programming” or “Proper Object Oriented Programming”. The acronym is “POOP”. They write in POOP.

I believe that you are referring to a “text box.”
