Question words Explanation

Trying to learn question words but a bit confused. Qué and Cuàl both mean what. Are they interchangeable or are they used in different contexts? Cuál also seems to mean which and also cuáles. Can this be explained please. And then there is cuánto. Does it mean, how many or how much or both? Hoping someone can help.
