When to use "cada" versus "todos los" when talking about doing something every day/summer/etc.

Question

I'm trying to brush up on my spanish and am having trouble understanding when to "cada" versus "todos los" when talking about doing something every day/summer/etc.

For example: We used to study together every Saturday: Estudiábamos juntos todos los sábados. Estudiábamos juntos cada sábado.

We used to go to the beach every summer: Íbamos a la playa cada verano. Íbamos a la playa todos los veranos.

I think in the first example, you would says "todos los sábados" and in the second, you would use "cada verano"; however, I'm only going off of what sounds right & would like to know (1) what is the correct way for each of the examples and (2) when you would use "cada" versus "todos los".

• Cada: each and everyone, you're counting individual whatevers.

  • Todos los: all of them. Every day. Every week. It's more of bulk thing.

I spent every day basking in the sun, this Summer. Me pasé todos los días asoleándome este verano.

I basked in the sun each day of this Summer. Tomé el sol cada día de este verano.
