"algo relacionado"/alternative

Practicing for my oral exam, I told my teacher: "quiero estudiar algo relacionado a/con lenguas" and she corrected me by replacing "algo relacionado" to something else. Sadly, I didn't write down what she said and I've since completely forgotten it. Can someone tell me a better way to say the above sentence? To be clear, I was trying to say "I want to study something (a subject) related to languages"

Quiero estudiar algo relacionado con idiomas/ lingüistica or even lenguas is correct.

You could say:

I personally like the first one with relacionado, which your teacher rejected, quite a lot.
Maybe you could ask her again .

If you're still watching this thread, could you tell me what the difference is between "tiene que ver" and "tenga que ver"? Are they interchangeable? - Wedgetail, Sep 5, 2017

I subscribe to the general puzzlement. "Algo relacionado" is perfectly good.
