ir + present participle

Does anyone know if there is a difference between these...

Me voy enamorando. Voy enamorando. Me estoy enamorando. Estoy enamorando.

"I am falling in love."

Me voy acercando. Voy acercando. Me estoy acercando. Estoy acercando.

"I am getting closer."

When would you use 'ir' instead of 'estar'? And also when would you use 'me'? Are there subtle differences in meaning?

Voy enamorando is wrong. with the meaning of falling in love. Estoy enamorando is wrong. with the meaning of falling in love. Me estoy enamorando is right. I'm falling in love.

Me voy enamorando is a "synonym" of Me estoy enamorando. It's much less used and it implies that the falling in love takes time.

The same would happen with Me estoy acercando and Me voy acercando.

Estoy acercando and Voy acercando could be ok but they need an object if not they are wrong.

Estoy acercando el auto a la casa. Estoy acercando mi abuelo a mi abuela.
I'm getting the car close to the house. I'm getting my grandpa close to my grandma.

You have to use me in all sentences to make them correct.

ok, difference: no difference in these cases.

Me estoy enamorando , voy enamorándome....no difference on this side of the world.

In other countries some might be more common than others. Here in Spain both would be colloquial.
