What is the difference between using the spanish words for you - Tú or TI when you want to direct what is said to YOU?

¿esta es para ti or para tú?

Hi Carole! "Ti" is a prepositional object, this means that you will use it after prepositions (a, ante, bajo, cabe, con, contra, de, desde, durante, en, entre, hasta, hacia, mediante, para, por, según, sin, sobre, tras)

So: Esto es para ti.

Lo hice por ti.

If it's after a preposition it's "tí"

para ti
por ti
de ti
detrás de ti
sin ti
etc.
I think the only exception is with "con", then it's "contigo".
