Saber or saberse??

If I wanted to say "do you know the password?" i have heard saberse is more of total knowledge of the thing you're talking about. So would it be...

"¿Te sabes la contraseña?"

Or

"¿Sabes la contraseña?"

And if it is sabes then could you give me examples of where you would use saberse.

I'm not sure if this is pertinent to this subject. http://www.spanishdict.com/answers/154492/saberse-vs-saber - NKM1974, Aug 23, 2017
In that link Master Lazarus addresses a different issue. It's worth reading it, but it is not the same as what Tozelton asks. - Gekkosan, Aug 23, 2017

Saberse is similar to saber. I think people use saber more than saberse and there is almost no difference.

Yo sé la lección.
Yo me sé la lección.

Juan Carlos sabe los tiempos verbales.
Juan Carlos se sabe los tiempos verbales.

In the sentences above both could be heard almost with the same meaning.Saberse is less common and I wouldn't use it in documents or formally.

Then you have saberse when it is really reflexive.
Ella se sabe linda. She knows she is pretty.
Tú te sabes inteligente. You know you are intelligent.
Again this saberse is not very formal for documents etc.

Both options are equally valid. I use them indistinctly myself.
