What is the difference between an informal and a formal singular command?

Welcome to the forum.

I don't know if you are saying you do not know how to form them, or you do not know what it is.

Tu is a command you give to a child. If it is an affirmative command you use the present tense of the third person singular. If it is a 3rd person command affirmative or negative (don't talk etc) you use the conjugation of the subjunctive. Third person commands are used in formal situations. Teachers will often use 3rd person. I'm a lawyer and in some courts you use the third person to the judge ( if your lordship pleases)

Tu (informal command) negative also uses the subjunctive conjugation.

You are often taught the imperative before starting learning the subjunctive.

You haven't asked about plural commands or nosotros.

I recently started a thread using music for grammar points and the imperative was the first I chose because it is easy to forget that Tu has a different form in the affirmative.
