Eclipse! There is a cow on the moon.

Hola amigos!

Espero que muchos de ustedes pudieron ver el eclipse total del sol en los Estados Unidos. Para mí, no fue espectacular porque lo único que ocurrió fue que cosas se pusieron un tanto más oscuro al aire libre. Pero sí vi a una vaca en la luna durante el eclipse.

No dudes en compartir cualquier cosa que observaste sobre el eclipse, tanto en inglés como en español.

I hope that many of you were able to see the total solar eclipse in the United States. For me, it was not spectacular because the only thing that happened was that things got a little darker outdoors. But I did see a cow on the moon during the eclipse.

Feel free to share anything that you observed about the eclipse, both in Spanish and in English.

I saw a total eclipse in Bucharest. Hot clear day and one little cloud approached the sun at the wrong time and I was one of about 40,000 people booing it and trying to blow it away. - ian-hill, Aug 22, 2017

For my friend, Ann. Even though there was not an eclipse in Alaska, my favorite photo of the eclipse was taken on board an Alaska Airlines plane.

Hi Ann! "fue" is better among those options, but I would say "no se pudo ver desde Alaska". On the other hand, "ha sido un día bastante oscuro" or "ha estado bastante oscuro hoy". - Shamelesspanish, Aug 22, 2017

As a tip, keep in mind that "estar" can't be followed by nouns, only with a preposition in between (estoy en mi casa). So, "un día" can only by preceded by "ser". - Shamelesspanish, Aug 22, 2017

Eclipses bring out the best in us and cows it would seem. However flying pigs are quite often seen when topics of a political or religious nature are mentioned. Then censorship is imposed in a vain attempt to restore calm.
