Words like Gracias

Question

It is Muchas Gracias and not Muchos. But how do we know which form of adjective to use. Gracias is a noun or what? And if it is, how do I know which form to select from.

Gracia is a feminine noun, so it takes a feminine adjective.

Muchas gracias .

it would be muchO with a masculine noun.

Muchos saludos.

Tanto/tanta works the same way.

Even with gracias:

No me han dado tantas gracias nunca.

nobody has ever thanked me so much.

Oh! So Gracias is a noun? I thought it is an excalamtion or something of that kind. Cuz nouns are things, name, place etc. But now I get it. Thank you so much for the help! - Alice0925, Aug 18, 2017

I have an easier way of remembering. Very often the two words rhyme.

Muchas gracias (The two words rhyme. They end the same way.)

Muchos saludos (These two words rhyme too.)
