Technical problems with access
Okay, I went to my wife's family reunion Friday around noon, and we were there until this afternoon. The entire time I was there, I could not log in on my ipad or my (somewhat ancient) laptop. Every time I pressed log in, or even sign up, it sent me to the browse users page, even if I typed in the log in page directly, or went to google to access it. I could look at the pages of the site (but didn't much, as I couldn't comment). I could use Duolingo, or see the news, it was not an internet issue. Two different devices one apple, one pc, so not a device issues. As soon as I got home, I was able to sign in fine on both devices (although I use my desktops that are more modern at home.)
Has anybody experienced this before. Is it part of the anti-spam? It is a shared hotel wifi. It has worked fine on the same devices at the same place with the same access code every year prior. I tried all 3 days and it was consistent. Again no issue back on my home wifi with either device.
Maybe it was just fate telling me I should not ignore my wife's family to post here.
Anyway does anyone know where else I might be expected to be cut off.

I had a crazy situation that only affected SD last weekend. I could access the conjugation and dictionary, but if I tried to get into Q &A or get into my Reputation it came up "502 Bad Gateway" That was on my laptop, so I tried to get on through my iPad and the same thing happened. And, I guess because I'm a total tech idiot, I also tried on my PC and the same thing happened. Everything else, my Memrise account, my e-mail, the internet, worked just fine.
So I got ahold of Gekkosan (who knows everything in the world about computers) and he wasn't able to replicate the problem on his own SD account. So he suggested that in order to try and fix it that I should empty the cache, which I did. Once I did that, everything started working fine. Gekko is an angel!
When this happened I did write to the feedback part of SD, but they were really busy with the spammers so I had cleared the cache before they were able to get back to me. They said that if it ever happens again I should make sure they see it before I fix it so that the programmers can figure out what happened. They were concerned because whatever happened was a problem on the SD end, and not on mine.
Bosque, cmon, we have had worse problems before, right ;9
I remember when they changed the format, virtually nothing was working...whohohoooooooo
Anyway, we need you here...so I hope you will not miss a day without us ...even though, I admit, mea culpa , that I never connect when I am on holiday.

I think it had something to do with the engineers working on the problems with the spammers. You were using a different IP address from a different location....maybe that had something to do with it. Or, it could have been that they were in the process of doing some kind of adjustments. I would send them an e-mail and ask.

Thanks for reporting it and I'm sorry you had that problem.
