Conditional & Imperfect Subjunctive?

Question

The answers to my last question kind of cleared this up for me, but I just want to make sure I have it right.

Is this the proper use of the conditional with the imperfect subjunctive?

"Si estudiara en aquella escuela, querría que las clases fueran más cortas."

(If I were studying at that school, I would want the classes to be shorter.)

Or would I use "quisiera" instead of "querría"...?

The way you wrote it is 100% grammatically correct.

Using quisiera is very common instead of querría.

It is so common that the RAE accepts it in the case of conditional statements.

I remember on an earlier post one member said he didn't think he has used querría since 1976.

It should also be noted that the alternative form of the imperfect subjunctive (quisiese in this case) is NOT accepted as an alternative in conditional statements.
