Castilian pronunciation

Question

Is there a way to get Castilian pronunciation? I know this site is leans more towards Latin American Spanish, but it would nice to be able to have an option to hear Castilian pronunciation, too.

OK you are asking about this site. I think some of the material is from Spain but I have never used it. Many people in the south of Spain pronounce similarly to those in Latin America. Given your location is in the South of the USA I am surprised you need the Castilian way of pronouncing. This American site deals specifically with how to pronounce from different parts of the \spanish speaking world.#

The Spanish national broadcasting company has loads of material on TV and radio the majority of which is from Spain - look up rtve. Some programmes also have transcripts/subtitles.

My advice is to try and be consistent with your pronunciation. I pronounce c and z as 'th but have made myself understood in Mexico and Peru, just as if Americans or Canadians visit Britain they are understood. A possible problem is slang and idioms that are different, but with films and TV most of those are understood

Nope. It doesn't. Because it doesn't help that I want to be able to have the option on this site to be able to hear the Castilian pronunciation of a word that I look up on this site, next to the word like the Latin American pronunciation. - PunkJesus, Jul 21, 2017

I didn't check right at this moment, but I'm pretty certain you can find the Castillian pronunciation on Youtube. Just search for "Spanish accents" or maybe "Castillian Espanish. I go there to listen to Argentine Spanish.

I take 1:1 Spanish classes on Skype with a native Spanish teacher from Spain. She recommended a website where I could listen to Spanish to improve my understanding of spoken Spanish.It is called aprenderespañol.org.

The website provides a series of short 20 - 30 minute videos which progressively tell a story about the lives of two Spanish girls in Spain: Lola and Ana who share an apartment and their neighbour Pablo. It is very funny! It is Castillian or Peninsula Spanish.

You can try this website. I think that their pronuciation is more Castilian than Latin American.
