"It's been a long time"

Question

If I wanted to say "It's been months since we've talked", would it be correct to write 'Hace varios meses que hablamos'

For some reason I feel like I have to include a negative, to say "We haven't talked in months", which would look like "Hace varios meses que no hablamos"

I would say .........Hace meses que no hablamos... or.... No hablamos desde hace meses.... or ... llevamos meses sin hablar

But wait for a Spanish native to confirm -- I'm a learner too!

Thanks everyone, for some reason I couldn't remember if you had to use the word 'no' to express that sentiment in English. In English we could say "It's been a while since we've talked", or you could say "We haven't spoken in a long time". One sentence is "positive" and the other is "negative" but in Spanish it appears that you have to express both of these ideas using the word "no". I just wanted to make sure that was correct. Thanks!

Billy has already given you a great answer:

The Spanish also have a colloquial expression: ¿Cuánto tiempo sin verte? = Long time no see!

You can also say:

¡Hace mucho que no hablamos! = We have not talked for a long time / It's been a long time since we talked

I have been taught both these expressions by my native Spanish teacher from Spain and I double checked the second example sentence which is in a PDF document my teacher created and sent me about a telephone conversation showing useful vocabulary.
