Hola a todos (Hello, everyone):

I just wanted to put together an ad for SpanishDict.com and its games in particular. I think everyone would agree that we are always on the lookout for new friends (and overjoyed when old friends reappear) to view and play our games. I know how much it has helped me learn Spanish. When I don't have time to participate I always make it a point to check in on the action as part of my daily routine.

So give our games a try on your journey to learning Spanish...and English too!

Sassette (Missy)

PS This comes from a picture of clouds I took on a beautiful summer day recently.

I would appreciate any suggested corrections to my Spanish and English. cool smile

If you click on the Games tab, some games will be missing from the results. That's because those games are in the wrong category. Below is a sampler of games to be found currently on SpanishDict. Those preceded by a VG are currently in Vocabulary & Grammar. Perhaps someone could change them to Games and Challenges?

VG One letter changes all !

VG The - erías ….how many do we know?

(one of a series. All have been VG)
VG #No.64 - Identify Items in Picture Game // Identificar las cosas en la imagen

Easy Game: ¿Qué es esto?

(one of a series)
The English Words of the Day/Las palabras en inglés del día: Pair - Pare

Drop one, take one. Pon una y toma una ..

One letter changes all is not considered a game, but an exercise in vocabulary. - rac1, Jul 19, 2017
Ah, OK - mattb1of6, Jul 19, 2017
Who changed the categories? The first 2 on your list need to stay in Vocab. :) - rac1, Jul 19, 2017
Thanks for bringing this up, Matt. :) - rac1, Jul 19, 2017

Hace años tuvimos juegos por ejemplo " Letreros chistosos " Los participantes estaban poniendo letreros chistosos y extraños. Fue muy divertido.

Estaba intentando escribir chistes y anécdotas , creo que Billygoat se acuerde, pero después un tiempo nadie estaba dispuesto seguir con aquellos.

Si ustedes quieren estoy dispuesta participar.

Years ago we had games such as "Humorous Signs". Participants were putting funny and strange signs. It was fun.

I was trying to write jokes and anecdotes, I think Billygoat remember, but after a while no one was willing to stick with those.

If you want I am willing to participate.

I was thinking about that game, "Humorous Signs" a few days ago. I enjoyed that game too. We just need to make it as family friendly as possible. lol - rac1, Jul 19, 2017
Por favor hazlo ! - porcupine7, Jul 19, 2017
I have started a version that should stimulate learning. We will see how that goes. :) - bosquederoble, Jul 19, 2017
Sounds like fun. I just wish we didn't have to be family friendly all the time lol - Sassette, Jul 19, 2017

Great post, Sassette. For those new to SD, we have 2 daily games, Word of the Day and Picure of the Day. Every day you have a chance to write your own caption to an interesting picture and to write a sentence using the word of the day. Native speakers are kind enough to come along and clean up our linguistic messes, and their corrections come with a large helping of kindness and generosity.

Then there is

Drop one, change one

The erías (naming different types of stores that end with those letters)

What is it?

and others. And you can always start a game of your own

Thanks for entry. I personally always start with the daily games: Word of the Day and PIcture of the Day. Of course the other games are valuable too. :) - Sassette, Jul 19, 2017
I think the, "what is it" is called, Qué es esto. If I don't see it, I'll bump it up. :) - rac1, Jul 19, 2017

Missing some. Like the one where you say what it is. And the one where you change a letter to change meaning of word. Maybe more Im new here.
