sabroso ( sah-BROH-soh )

(adjective) tasty, delicious

There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speakers suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

No tengo tiempo hoy, pero creo que alguien podría hacer una oración que contiene las pasadas diez palabras del día. El resultado podría ser sabroso smile

I don't have time today, but I believe someone could make a sentence containing the last ten words of the day. The result could be delicious smile

Una de mi hijas, la que está embarazada, prepara comida muy sabrosa, pero debido al bebé tiene muchas náuseas y actualmente no quiere comer (ni cocinar) carne. La otra, la que ya tiene un bebé, no es tan buena como cocinera, pero supongo que no importa, porque a su marido no le gusta la cocina casera.

One of my daughters , the one that is pregnant, cooks very tasty food, but due to the baby she has a lot of nausea and currently does not want to eat (or cook) meat. The other, who already has a baby, is not as good as a cook, but I suppose it doesn't matter, because her husband does not like home-cooked food.

Who doesn't like home-cooked food? That is both a question and a rhetorical question :) - jellonz, Jul 18, 2017
The one daughter makes home made stuffing in a turkey every year, the other daughter makes stove stop stuffing for her husband only, because he will not eat the good stuff. :) - bosquederoble, Jul 18, 2017
My wife stayed down after the baby was born and cooked each night. He wouldn't eat most of it, even though she made it mild without onions. She drove the leftovers all home to me when she left. He goes to junk food places most meals. - bosquederoble, Jul 18, 2017
How sad. I couldn't live off junk food. You might want to edit "husband" in Bosque. That was the second intention of my question :) - jellonz, Jul 18, 2017
Note, by stove top I mean the package noted above- the other daughter makes extra stuffing that doesn't go in the turkey, so it is not just contact with the bird, It is that it has flavor and doesn't taste like a box. - bosquederoble, Jul 18, 2017
I don't know i missed that. thanks,, Jellonz. :) - bosquederoble, Jul 18, 2017

They just don't seem to cook, when we visited we went out for every meal. Totally different than how I was raised. :) - bosquederoble, Jul 18, 2017

La comida saludable puede ser sabroso si es preparado con habilidad y con las especias.

Ay cómo deseo que 'sabroso' y 'comida que engorda' no fueran sinónimos.

Oh how I wish that "delicious" and "fattening" weren't synonymous.

Es muy extraño que algo que era sabroso cuando era joven es ahora demasiado dulce o demasiado grasoso..

It is very strange that something that was tasty when you were young is now too sweet or too fatty.

Unas comidas son "unos gustos adquirido," y se vuelven más sabrosos con el tiempo.

Some foods are "an acquired taste", and become more tasty over time.
