There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speakers suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

Me gusta aromatizar un platillo con jugo de lima. Tiene un sabor ligeramente diferente que lo del limón que me encanta.

I like to flavor food with lime juice. It has a slightly different flavor than lemon which I love.

Too true Amber. It's a sense we rely on much more than we know, or perhaps choose to believe, confining it, as we tend to do, to a sense more important to baser animals. A philosophical moment on this Tuesday morning :) - jellonz, Jul 17, 2017

Me gusta aromatizar sopas y guisos con mejorana y ajedrea de jardín, pero no me gusta el sabor o el olor de tomillo y el cilantro me atraganta.

I like to flavor soups and stews with marjoram and summer savory, but I don't like the taste or smell of thyme and cilantro makes me gag.

Coriander in English is cilantro in Spanish. - NKM1974, Jul 17, 2017
In the U.S. "coriander" usually refers to the seeds of the plant. The seeds lack the aldehydes of the leaves so don't taste like soap. - AnnRon, Jul 17, 2017
I'm with you on this one, Ann. Honestly, I hate both of those flavors. Yuk! To me thyme smells like dirty dishwater. lol - rac1, Jul 17, 2017
Cilantro has become very popular in latin cooking. I have to make sure that the cook doesn't put any on my food. it's not for me :-(! - Jraider, Jul 17, 2017

Cuando preparo comida india, aromatiza la casa entera, y todos saben lo que voy a servir, y cuando mi esposa cocina comida mexicana, es lo mismo, cuando llego a casa, sé lo que voy a cenar.

When I cook Indian food, the scent wafts through the entire house, and everyone knows what I am going to serve, and when my wife cooks Mexican food, it is the same, when I get home, I know what I will be dining on.

Perhaps if you freshen up your clothes a little you will hook up with a girlfriend.
