Need Help with Por vs Para
So I have filed out the blanks with either 'por' or 'para'. However, i'm not too confident with my answers as i'm still having trouble with this grammar topic. Please let me know if any are incorrect. Thank You for your help. (1) POR fin he acabado mis clases. Ya puedo despedirme de esta escuela (2) PARA siempre. (3) POR primera vez en mucho tiempo puedo descansar. Mis hermanas mayores dicen que la secundaria no es (4) PARA tanto, pero creo que ya no se acuerdan de lo difícil que es. (5) POR mucho que se lo recuerdo, ellas no se acuerdan. Y (6) PARA colmo, me dicen que lo único que hago es quejarme. No es justo. ¡(7) POR lo general, yo no me quejo tanto!

As I have indicated with the bolding, all of these uses of POR vs. PARA are idiomatic, meaning that they are "set phrases" It is a good idea to learn them "as a chunk" meaning learn the phrase, don't think about the individual words.
If you do this, you will never have to wonder "Is it 'por lo general' or 'para lo general'?" If you memorize (and use) the chunk "por lo general" and its meaning: "in general", "Para lo general" will sound as strange to you as saying "for general" instead of "in general"
With most "set phrases" swapping POR for PARA or vice-a-versa would either not work or be much less common. (and have a different meaning)
