2) The first sentence was not well interpreted. (les cuento...), that mistake was made by everybody.
the best option would probably be: let me explain or "here goes..."

So far two takers...have a go at it, as the answers are not completely correct 
My question is; why did she say "otros niños if she wasn't talking about another niño? and doesn't the translation of "I raise him up well" work too? Thanks!

Lo educo makes no sense, so as she writes just likes she pronounces, I am not surprised to see the "S" missing.

I agree with you regarding the translation of "les cuento"= I tell you (plural) [or Os cuento] But we translated "Lo educó" to "raise him" because of two reasons:
1- We saw the lo and 2- The woman said; "Mis otros niños" which indicated that there is niños y otros niños...
My question is; why did she say "otros niños if she wasn't talking about another niño? and doesn't the translation of "I raise him up well" work too? Thanks!

Are there not at least two other mistakes in the text above, Heidi ....shouldn't it be los = them, to match (correspond to) los niños and educaron: "dice que no los educaron bien pero..

What is it with the Spanish "S" by the way? A Spanish woman once told me that there are many variants of it in her country alone. At the end of words it tends get swallowed. Mind you, where I'm from we butcher all of our consonants so I shouldn't talk.
"Lo educo" could mean "I educate/raise him", right? For example...

-Lo educo (Obviously not possible because we're talking about los niños).
