Lo acuerdo

Question

Hi all,

Please tell if it is right substitute for "De acuerdo" when somebody agree with something spoken before ('Lo' for that spoken thing, and 'acuerdo' for 'estoy acuerdo')?

I agree with something. Estoy de acuerdo con algo.
You could also say. De acuerdo.

Lo acuerdo is wrong here.

Lo acuerdo or lo acordé (past) could be when you say something like:

Acordé el contrato de alquiler de la nueva casa. Lo acordé (lo means contrato here)

I searched a little for 'Lo acordé' usages - looks like this is the most close (and the right one), but used in other situations. Thanks for explanation! - Koss3269, Jul 11, 2017

"De acuerdo" and "estoy de acuerdo" are the same and both are correct, meaning I agree.

"Estoy acuerdo" is not correct.

Not sure where you mean to put "lo" but I cannot think on any instance that it would be correct.

I haven't heard or seen "lo acuerdo" used as you are suggesting.

I'm not a native speaker but I think the best options are:

De acuerdo

Estoy de acuerdo (contigo) (optional)

En eso estoy de acuerdo

Or you could just say:

¡Eso!

Have you seen "lo acuerdo" being used in this way or are you just wondering if it is possible / correct? I can see why it might be theoretically correct. Often lo, eso, and esto can be used to refer to previously stated information. Note the use of "eso" in two of my examples.

Often when "lo" is referring to a previously mention topic, and it doesn't just mean "it" it goes along with "de" ---- "lo de la boda" The issue regarding the wedding, all the stuff we talked about regarding the wedding, etc. To use "lo de" instead of "eso" here would be sort of awkward I think.

Is it a possible translation of "the agreed upon thing"?

used as a "no gender noun" (I don't know the grammar term for this......anyone?)
