How do I clarify when using "su", should I say "a usted" or "de usted"
You do not have to clarify anything. Any native speaker will understand right away.
Coffeelate is one of our native speakers here, her answers are always spot on.
Please, ultramar, do us the favour to include one of the sentences, for example, in the title. If we or even you yourself want to search for it it will be impossible to find.
Just to check what I am talking about , make a search for "translation"...there are thousands of threads.
Your translation is almost perfect!
-----The word household is very difficult to translate. Maybe cuántas personas viven en el hogar? or even the one you chose. The "usted" is not necessary but you could use it if this makes you feel it's more clear. ----------------------------------------------------------------
We don't use the expression "días laborales" in this case. We use "días hábiles" , which usually include from Monday to Friday if it's a public office and could sometimes include Saturday but very seldom. . Ten of these days would include 2 whole weeks of the calendar.
Thank you! How do I clarify when using "su", should I say "a usted" or "de usted" -
I am sorry, ultramar...it is perfectly clear , as I already said, that su in this context means "your". I know that it has different meanings, but not in this context, and as the recording is directed at native speakers there can't and will not be any confusion.
