(adjective) soporific, sleepy; numbing

There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speakers suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

En español Sleepy se llama "Dormilón" porque siempre está adormilado, y Dopey se llama "Mudito" porque no habla.

In Spanish Sleepy is called "Dormilón" because he's always sleepy, and Dopey is called "Mudito" because he doesn't talk.

En inglés Dormilón se llama "Sleepy" porque le gusta dormir, pero Mudito se llama "Dopey" porque Walt Disney era cruel y insensible.

I think I may have cheated using "adormilado" but "adormecedor" didn't seem to work and I was too far invested. Sorry. And sorry to Disney fans :) - jellonz, Jun 13, 2017
Don't be...but how do you know? - rac1, Jun 13, 2017
Naming the mentally challenged mute "Dopey" could be considered a little insensitive, and drowning innocent parents in saturated singy dancy cutesiness could be considered cruel. But maybe I'm just being Grumpy :) - jellonz, Jun 13, 2017
Lol Jellonz...I see what you mean. :) - rac1, Jun 13, 2017
Creo que puede ser El Grumpo :-)! - Jraider, Jun 13, 2017
Close JR. He's called Gruñón - "grumpy" as an adjective, "grump" as a noun :) - jellonz, Jun 13, 2017

He looks it too. He has something all over his feet. - rac1, Jun 13, 2017
Is this a correct usage? I think it means "sleep-inducing," not "sleepy" as in "I feel sleepy." Help us, native speakers! - mstivers, Jun 13, 2017

I guess you have to really pay attention. How did you find it? :) - rac1, Jun 13, 2017
It's pretty well-known. it's famous for being just a conversation between two people at dinner. No plot, no action. But if you like good conversation, it's brilliant. - mstivers, Jun 13, 2017
I like that actor. He was in the "Princess Bride". :-)! - Jraider, Jun 13, 2017

Hola Nkm. You need a "the" before radio. The "the" before telly is optional though. - jellonz, Jun 13, 2017

Suelen tener las reuniones en mi trabajo durante la hora de comer, y bajan las luces para proyectar algo de la computadora y hablan monótonamente, todos los cuales me resulta muy adormecedor, pero por lo menos no soy el único que parece luchar para mantener los ojos abiertos.

They usually have the meetings at my work during lunch hour, and dim the lights to project something from the computer and drone on, all of which is very soporific for me, but at least I am not the only one who seems to struggle to keep their eyes open.
