Can you correct my formal letter?
Dear Sir:
I am terribly sorry to inform you that the meeting that was to take place on June the 1st had to be cancelled. The venue's owner have notified us that he was not going to be available due to some personal inconveniences he is facing. For this reason, the committee has suggested that we postpone/to postpone the meeting for another week. I would like to hear your thoughts on/about this and get confirmation.
Once again, we apologise for not meeting your expectations. The meeting will be carried out (?) as soon as we get in touch with our second venue option.
Best regards, Name
I wrote two options for some of the parts because I didn't know which one to use and I also don't know if carry out is used in the correct way here and in the last sentence I wrote "our second venue option" because I wanted to say that we have a plan B but I don't know if I said it right. Thank you!!
