I think I've figured out how to post a picture from a "public" website. I've done it a couple times. I note that there is a latency before the picture actually appears on this site, which I suppose is due to approval by the powers-that-be.

My question is thus: Can one post a picture that is stored on one's hard-drive?

Yes but not directly , you have to get the url from another site like "photobucket" I send mine to facebook and from there back to SD . - ray76, May 31, 2017
You can look up free image hosting in your search bar. There are many sites that will take photos from your downloads and create Jpg links for you. - Nickelbackfan1, May 31, 2017
Don: I normally don't experience any latency, at least when I post from a computer. I don't know what would explain that, but I don't think it has anything to do with the SD powers-that-be. - DilKen, May 31, 2017
That's what I thought, Ray: from A to B to C, the last being SD. - DonBigoteDeLaLancha, May 31, 2017

You can't get a pic directly off your hard drive. You have to copy it to any of the 27,814 websites that store pics for you so that it has a web address. Then you post its address here and up it pops. smile
