Hi! Please take a look at my spanish 2 essay, is there any mistakes? (everything is in past tense).

ENGLISH: After a week of hard working, Senor Spitler waited in the corner for the traffic light to turn green. When it turned green, he rushed to the bus station and bought a ticket to go back to his beautiful farm in the country side. He was a gentleman, and said to a lady: "you go before me."He waited patiently in the bus stop while the rest of the passengers got on the bus. After an hour of driving, he finally arrived to his farm. There are two beautiful farm houses and many crops. With excitment, senor Spitler took off his jacket and enjoyed the fresh air, and he started thinking what he was going to do for the weekend.

I like Feiz77's choice of "cultivo" better than "cosecha".
I thought of using "amada" ("beloved") farm instead of "bonita" because... because I did. I don't like to overuse the same words in the same sentence or paragraph. Same thing with "esperar" and "guardar". It wasn't clear whether Spitler gave up his place in line to buy a ticket or to board the bus, so I chose the line. I was going to use "bohío" for farmhouse but I guess that depends on the location. A bohío is somewhat rustic. At one point Elite uses "corner" and then in the Spanish, he says "acera", which is sidewalk. It could be either. They both make sense given the context.

Overall, an 88% for Elite.

Hello EliteSmart,

Evaluation:

¡Buen intento! /Good attempt! I have made some suggestions for corrections in bold type. Some of your Spanish mistakes are simply minor (small) like missing out a necessary accent on the word señor or placing the noun and adjective in the wrong word order! As a guideline, usually adjectives follow the noun in Spanish but some adjectives precede the noun and quite a lot can go either before of after, but their position changes the meaning of the sentence! I have not attempted to correct all your mistakes as I am only an intermediate student and was not sure about the correct way to express some of the things you were trying to say, so instead of unintntionally misleading you I have decided to see what some of the regular Spanish speaking natives like Daniele, Raff, Polenta or even Luis post. I hope this helps! wink
