Hello Everybody! Welcome to the Picture of the Day! This is a game where you can all practice your Spanish and English, but still have fun at the same time! Post your comments/titles/captions to this picture (both in Spanish and English) and vote for the responses you like. Please, give everyone a chance and only post more or less one caption and no photos. . Please encourage everyone with a vote. . .Please help each other with your English/Spanish sentences. And above all, have fun.

The mother is speaking to her daughter: "Let me see your 'selfie' that you have just posted on your "facebook"profile! Yes, I know (am aware that).you would like a boyfriend but you won't get (find) a good one by lying about your age....anyone could tell at a glance that you're not 16 yet! I think you should learn to be more honest first, don't you?!"

Feliz: Very nice. I think por mentir works OK. You could also replace "por mentir" with "mintiendo" which would act as an adverb of vas a encontrar and would translate as "by lying" (without using por) - DilKen, May 18, 2017
Thank you, Ken :) - FELIZ77, May 18, 2017

Papá, primero, necesitas decir "OK Google" o "Siri"

Mirror, mirror in my hands, who is the meanest SOB in all the jungle?

Dad, first you need to say "OK Google" or "Siri"

I went to camp as a child in Wisconsin and some camp members were from Mexico. I seem to recall them using the phrase puto de madre. Like many memories of my childhood, I wish I would forget. lol - Sassette, May 18, 2017
I know it's a little naughty but I thought I'd take a chance - DilKen, May 18, 2017
I'm ok with it. It just brought up a childhood memory, that's all. - Sassette, May 19, 2017

Parental care suffers a lot when parents spend too much time sending text messages on their cellphones instead of interacting with their babies.

¡Muy bien dicho, Bosque! ;) - FELIZ77, May 18, 2017
Bosque: I could be wrong, but I think you need to use the infinitive - interactuar - instead of the gerundio here :) - DilKen, May 18, 2017
I was mentally still working off pasar and contrasting with enviando. But since it follows a preposition, I suspect you are right. :) - bosquederoble, May 18, 2017
Yes, the infinitivo is needed here ....interactuar :) - FELIZ77, May 18, 2017

N K M you can use while in English and mientras in Spanish here if you join the two sentences. If you start a new sentence you need to say Meanwhile and Mientras tanto. - DilKen, May 18, 2017

Kristen: I believe, in Spanish, we need to insert "que" in this type of sentence. dije que no fotos. I know, it doesn't seem to make sense to an English speaker, but that's how it's done. - DilKen, May 18, 2017
Even to say: I said no! You would write Dije que no! - DilKen, May 18, 2017
Also, with decir it is customary to include the indirect pronoun of the person you are speaking to: Mama, ¡te dije que no fotos! - DilKen, May 18, 2017

Well, son, it says here that we evolved from something called Purgatorius. It looks like a rat! What will those silly humans think of next?

It is natural that the development of the technique reaches the gorillas, because they are most closely related to human beings.
