Is "consejo anónimo" how one would say it in Spanish?

This is the context:

"An anonymous tip helped the police solve the crime." Un consejo anónimo ayudó a la policía a esclarecer el crimen.

anónimo (masc) or anónima (fem) could be used after any of the following nouns.

The best choice would depend on the nature of the tip.

denuncia - a report made to the police, like the English verb "to denounce"

This one is quite common when it comes to crimes.

información - any information that was helpful in solving the crime, the person who gave the information may not have actually denounced the criminal but just has a key piece of information.

consego - advice. I think you should ask, check, etc.

sugerencia- a suggestion - Why don't you look at....

pista - a clue - the person handed in the murder weapon anonymously for example

There may be more, but I think you get the idea. Just look up any of the above in the SD dictionary and see what best fits your circumstances.

For inquiries of this nature, context.reverso.net can be a big help. You can see dozens or hundreds of actual sentences in both languages and even check the broader context of any sentence with a click of the mouse.

I agree with k..... in many cases. It could be " denuncia anónima , información anónima or even pista anónima. I wouldn't use "consejo" because this is a piece of advice.
