Hello Everybody! Welcome to the Picture of the Day! This is a game where you can all practice your Spanish and English, but still have fun at the same time! Post your comments/titles/captions to this picture (both in Spanish and English) and vote for the responses you like. The best answer will be chosen soon on the basis of the answer I feel is the best, the fact that the person has corrected their post and possibly the number of votes. Pon tu comentario/ título/ pie de foto a esta im! agen (ambos en español y inglés) y vota por las respuestas que te gusten. La mejor respuesta será seleccionada cuando pueda, tanto por la cantidad de votos como por la corrección en el uso del idioma. Please, give everyone a chance and only post more or less one caption and no photos. Por favor, deja que todos tengan una oportunidad y pon más o menos una respuesta, sin fotos. . Please encourage everyone with a vote. . .Please help each other with your English/Spanish sentences. And above all, have fun.

En una inundación cada uno se ejerce para ayudar.

In a flood everyone exerts himself to help.

¡Oiga! Hombre, esos perritos son nuestros bebés, ¡no los meta en el horno¡

Hey Man! Those puppies are our babies. Don't you be putting them in the oven!

"you be putting" is American slang for "put"

Pronunciation is: don chu bi put'n 'm

Well that is what we say here mate also , so I doubt that it is American slang but I could be wrong . Incidentally they do eat dogs there and have restaurants that specialise in them . - ray76, May 15, 2017
Ray: I wasn't sure how widespread this type of usage is. How about: I be real tired today. (instead of "am") That is generally only said in ghetto-talk here. How about down under? - DilKen, May 15, 2017

Un hombre hará cualquier cosa por su "mejor amigo".

A man will do anything for his "best friend".

Cuando asumes la responsabilidad de tener una mascota, debes encargarse de su seguridad y cuidado no importa lo que suceda.

When you take on the responsibility of having a pet, you must see to its safety and care no matter what happens.

Si lloviendo gatos y perros, también podría poner un cubo.

If it's raining cats and dogs, you might as well put out a bucket.

Lol Kristin, you need the verb 'estar' to form the present progressive tense: Si ESTÁ lloviendo a cántaros = If it is 'raining cats and dogs' It is an idiom so cannot be translated literally! The translation I have given you is one of at least two options - FELIZ77, May 15, 2017
It is the one I remember most easily! I hope this helps ::) - FELIZ77, May 15, 2017

Ten cuidado. Recuerda, Gran Hermano (por cuatro) te vigila.

Take care. Remember, Big Brother (times four) is watching you.

Un hombre debe cuidar a sus animales, contra viento y marea— en este caso, marea.

A man must take care of his animals, come hell or high water—in this case, high water.

The man: "When my wife finds out I've been keeping (looking after)the puppies in this box ...I think she is 'going to have kittens'!" Lol

El hombre: " Cuando mi esposa descubra que he estado cuidando de los perritos (cachorros) dentro de esta caja de herramientas, creo que va a 'dar un ataque'!"

Corrijan mi español si es necesario, por favor: )
