How do I say, "Welcome my friends" when the guests are female?

I think one correct way to do this would be:
Bienvenidas a mi casa, mis amigas
I'm not a native speaker, so I could be wrong ![]()
Saying "to your house" is done as well:
Bienvenidas a su casa, mis amigas.
As in:
Mi casa es su casa.
The key thing to note, in all of the above, is using the feminine, plural version of bienvenido when they are all women. If even one friend is male, you would use bienvenidos and amigos.
If we want to show off
a phrase which uses "de que" and the "perfect subjunctive" you could follow this up with:
Me alegro de que hayan llegado.
I'm happy or glad that you have come (llegar = to arrive in Spanish)
Bienvenidas damas.
That means, "Welcome ladies."
You could say it in multiple ways. It is just whatever way works best for you!
1- ¡Bienvenidas!
2- ¡Bienvenidas, chicas! (In Spain "chicas" can be used for adolescents, young women or even senior ladies; In Latin America I would advise to restrict this term to younger people).
3- ¡Bienvenidas a mi casa!
4- ¡Bienvenidas, amigas!
5- ¡Bienvenidas, amigas mías! (To add "mías" is a really pompous but if it's said in a sweet way and in the right context, it can be nice and fun.
6- ¡Os doy la bienvenida! (Standard colloquial in Spain - for both sexes).
7- ¡Les doy la bienvenida! (Standard in Latin America - both sexes).
Bienvenidas amigas
Hello Choc,
Welcome to our Spanishdict community forum ![]()
You can say: Bienvenidas amigas
Another way to make Spanish people feel welcome / at home is to say (add):
¡Ponte cómodo! (to individual) / ¡Ponlas cómodo! = Make yourself comfortable! (To group ![]()
¡Estás en tu casa! = Make yourself at home (to individual) ![]()
¡Están en su casa! = Make yourself at home!
(to group)
¡Estáis en vuestra casa! = Make yourself at home! (To group, informal, used in Spain!)
I hope this helps ![]()
